Everything you could possibly need to know about the 2009 series!

The Tigers

Team tactics, sabotage and rivalry dominated Shipwrecked 2009.

The fourth series once again saw a group of aspiring young hopefuls stranded on two desert islands in the middle of the South Pacific, battling it out for a big cash prize of £70,000. But this time there was an unexpected final twist - only one person can have the money!

From kidnaps to catfights, lies to love triangles, betrayal to broken hearts, the Sharks and the Tigers bared all teeth in their bid to take home the treasure. Each week saw the arrival of two new cast-aways, who spent the first half of the week with the Sharks and the second half with the Tigers, before agreeing on which island they wanted to live. Throughout the competition both tribes put their best tactics to the test to win over the new arrivals...

Remember Liverpudlian motormouth Mark, straight-laced MacKenzie or fun-loving Franki? Or what about student feminist Hollie or Tiger loyalist Liam? Ex-public school girl Hermione found love with ladies' man Tom, but it was paradise lost for Greg and Maz after a shocking letter from her ex-boyfriend made waves amongst the Sharks.

There was camp sabotage, rice pudding stealing, escape attempts, fake weddings, some spectacular fancy dress beach parties, and even an emergency hospital trip after a dangerous game of 'Chase the Coconut'.

But with both teams at a 15-15 deadlock, in the end it was up to 19-year-old newbie Liran to make the final decision and declare the winning tribe. The Sharks claimed a resounding victory - but the Tigers were about to blow holes in their good spirits...

Only one of the Sharks could keep the cash - and it was up to the Tigers to decide who! Whilst MacKenzie and loud-and-proud Nadejah were strong favourites, it was lovable down-to-earth Greg who had captured the hearts of all the islanders and was crowned Shipwrecker 2009.
