Salema Radford is a 21-year-old medical student from Norwich. She's single.
There are two sides to Salema: on one hand she's a well spoken medical student with a "dreadful bedside manner" and on the other she's a super competitive, bitchy beauty queen (she's a former Miss Jamaica & Miss Norwich!).
Salema lives at home with her parents and sister, with whom she's VERY competitive (Salema's currently 'winning' apparently, because she's studying medicine!).
She's hoping the girls on the island aren't too "loud, horrible and wanting to argue all the time" cos she thinks that will encourage her to do the same. Instead, she'd be happy with "nice girls who can bitch but aren't actually mean." Oh and she doesn't like "laddy" girls either.
When it comes to men, Salema's not too fussy - she fancies all types really, apart from the pretty ones. And she describes herself as "sexist", in that she believes in the traditional gender role stuff i.e. that women are simply better at cooking and men are better at building etc. She also reckons that feminists are only feminists because boys don't like them!
