Island Life Update Week 3

This week things get nasty with sabotage on both of the islands...

This week’s new arrivals were 22-year-old self-confessed ladies' man Tom (who's so laid back I think someone should check his pulse… ), and 18-year-old Silkie Carlo, a strict vegetarian and political activist. Don’t be fooled by those blonde locks… this woman meant business.

Tom and Silkie spent the first part of their week on Tiger Island, where Sonny was dismayed at Silkie's idea that they should all be vegetarian. That was his plans for a chicken dinner cancelled.

It was then that Silkie and Tom implemented what is possibly the most awesome rule Shipwrecked has ever seen - everyone must be in fancy dress all the time. With Liam in a bikini top and knee-high socks and Mark done up like a schoolboy, their spirits were higher than ever. That is, until the Sharks swam across to say hello to their island neighbours.

Bad timing Sharkies! Liam had just discovered that Xanthi and MacKenzie had stolen some of their nails at the last beach party, and was absolutely fuming. 'This is war', he muttered, as he saw the jeering Sharks... Which would have been pretty threatening, had he not been wearing mascara and lipstick at the time.

Unaware that tribe members Xanthi and Mackenzie are responsible for 'Nailgate', the Sharks were baffled by the frosty reception from the Tigers. Oops… It started to look like Xanthi and MacKenzie could have ruined it for all the Sharks this week with the prank. Honestly; boys - will they ever learn?

Shocked by the fallout from 'Nailgate' and the Sharks' behaviour, the new arrivals Tom and Silkie pledged their allegiance to the Tigers and headed over to spend the second half of their week on Shark island. Unfortunately for them, Maz heard them discussing plans to sabotage their stay with the Sharks. Uh-oh…

As Tom and Silkie carried out various bits of mischief (throwing nails down the long drop, stealing rice pudding, and even smashing up Maz’s beloved giraffe mascot) little did they know that they had already been rumbled. The next day they were held to account for their actions… and with guilty faces they even admitted that they respected the way the Sharks had handled the sabotage situation.

At the beach party it started to look like the mischievous new arrivals could forget their pledges and turn Shark, but, unknown to them, Liam was even suggesting walking out if such an unthinkable situation arose.

However, it all went to plan for the Tigers, as the new arrivals stuck to their guns and picked up the famous orange and black necklaces, with the unsurprised Sharks never realising just how close it was to going their way.

But there was one final twist in the tale: Nadejah and Mark, separated for a whole week, were finally able to be reunited, as Mark nominated himself to cross over to the Sharks. Nadejah was thrilled… the Tigers were not.

So there ends another thrilling instalment. It was all-in-all a good week for the Tigers, but Mark's las--minute switch meant that the Sharks managed to at least snatch a small victory from the jaws of total defeat.
