Shipwrecked

Tuesday 18 October 2011

Flora Bradley-Watson is a 22-year-old Politics graduate from Dorset. She's single.

In contrast to some of her fellow islanders, Flora has been a member of the Green Party since she was 17 and considers herself a 'postmodern feminist'. Part of her reason for wanting to be on Shipwrecked is to see if she can get rid of 'gender binary' on the island - stereotypical male and female roles, such as building, cooking and sunbathing. Good luck with that.

Flora had a rural upbringing in Dorset, but she thinks it's 'vulgar' to talk about money. Her parents ran a B&B where they bred their own chickens and lambs that their father would kill, so she's not too fussed about slaughtering animals on the island.

What she IS fussed about though is authority - nobody tells her what to do, no not her. And not only does she like a debate, she's really good at it too - Flora was a member of her university debating society in Bristol. If you cross her, she'll 'give as good as she gets', hence her nickname - the Pocket Rocket.

Flora says that people are often lulled into a false sense of security by her 'innocent face', but don't be fooled, the Pocket Rocket means business!
