The 10 Shipwreckers are introduced to each other on the island that they will call home for 13 weeks.
With just one island, deep in the South Pacific - and over 12,000 miles from the UK -, the contestants have no chance of escape.
During their stay, the islanders will have to build their own shelters, using the basic materials provided. Any extra food rations beyond those provided will have to be sourced from the island's resident wildlife.
Each episode, they¿ll be battling against each other to be voted Island Leader, giving them the power to make island laws and punishments.
The ultimate victor will take home a cash prize and reign supreme as the winner of Shipwrecked 2011. In the opening episode, the first two arrivals immediately clash over the rations, and later it¿s make or break in the first island leadership vote.
