It's fair to say that there's no one quite like the patriarch of the Gallagher family.
A proud father of... erm... many, a philosopher, and a professional drunk, Frank is also a one-time bigamist, marrying both Monica and Sheila Gallagher - the latter only to get his hands on her benefits. Keeping it all neatly in the family, he also slept with Sheila's daughter Karen numerous times.
Frank has faked his own death and been presumed dead on several occasions, although despite his alcohol intake, Frank is very much alive.
Regardless of his flaws, Frank loves his family very much, stepping in to protect them from trouble on at least one occasion.
Although his wife Monica leaves him in Series 6, he stays committed to the family and meets the love of his life in Series 7 - Libby.
The path of true love ne'er does run smooth and Frank has more than one run-in with the acerbic Patty - Libby's mother.
But that doesn't stop the star-crossed lovers and marriage is on the cards for them come Series 8...
