Filmed in London and on the sea-ice off Eastern Greenland over a six-month period, this two-part drama begins in London in 1914. The epic adventure begins with the explorer attempting to raise funds for his expedition on the eve of the First World War - as well as struggling with a complex personal life and his brother's imprisonment for fraud - and ends on the frozen wastes of the Antarctic.
