This special challenge was inspired by the maritime achievements of a true engineering heavyweight - Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Throughout an extraordinary career, Brunel designed buildings, bridges, boats and railways that became icons of the Industrial Revolution. His giant paddle boats, the Great Eastern and Great Western set the standard for transatlantic crossings.
Teams from the UK and US must build paddle boats capable of transporting cargo across the Scrapheap Atlantic.
