  1. The format is wrong. I think Dick Strawbridge is great, he's done some fantastic programs in the past both with Scrapheap and other stuff. But the format of this series is all wrong. We need to go back to proper good old Scrapheap, with two teams up against each other. It's just a televised roadshow these days, not a semi serious competition from which most viewers can actually learn something.

  3. Following the recent debate about commercial TV not being able to compete with the BBC, one of the reasons for not watching commercial TV was the lack of decent programming. With the change of Scrapheap's format, it's almost like the budget for one of the best programmes on here has been taken away, and now it's looking for an excuse to be dropped from further series being made. The Roadshow format is good for bonus episodes, not the main competition, unless there is a method for an overall series winner. It used to be good because it was light-hearted, mildly competitive, and educational too, but the genuine competitive element has been taken away.
