  1. I agree completely with the other posts, back in 2009 when i first saw one of the new episodes i thought it was some sort of joke, i actually had to load up my PC just to check what had happened to Robert & Lisa and the Format that has been around for a Decade or so. After checking a few websites my worst thoughts had become a realitly, it's a shame and a waste hope things are fixed...

  2. Yawn, what a waste if time. If this was in a legal court of law you would have been sued for deformation of using then great name of'Scrapheap Challeng'. Ok, so after 10 years you deice that fp0r wahtever reason the Scrapheap Challenge should die,so then let it die wih honuor. This neww series is NOT scrapheap as we known it. Just let it die.

  3. What a letdown, I have been an avid fan of Scrapheap Challange since it first began but this new version has lost the plot and the excitement. The build time in the old show was enthralling especially some of the blind alleys the teams went down only to find they had to change tack while up against the clock. Dick Strawbridge is a great chap but he is misplaced here as presenter and his own team leader. Bring back the original show with Lisa & Robert without delay!

  4. I've been watching scrapheap challenge for many years, and I was greatly looking forward to the new series, however I was shocked and appalled by what I saw, its utter rubbish. Bring back the old scrapheap challenge! Bring back Robert and Lisa!! Until then I won't be watching it again..

  5. Why on earth has such a good show been changed?? The new format and presenter are a complete failure in my eyes and by the sound of the other comments you will be losing many viewers, me included. Bring back Robert and Lisa!!

  7. Oh dear, what on earth has happened to one of my favorite shows? The format has been totally changed for the worst. Maybe it was decided that after ten years things needed to change, well I say if it ain't broke don't fix it. I only hope that channel 4 read all these comments and bring scrapheap challange back in the format we know and love, and don't even think about it without Robert and Lisa!

  10. What have you done to this great programme? The whole thing feels rushed, we see little of the interesting builds and the tensions within the teams. There is no opportunity to identify with or care about who wins and why have the Strawbridge team automatically in the final every time? Robert (such a charismatic and amusing presenter) and Lisa and their brilliant on screen chemistry was a large part of the programme. Dick Strawbridge is OK but he ain't Robert Llewellyn.

  11. What an absolute failure! Boring, rushed and very pointless. Either cancel the series or bring back the old format.

  12. Sorry to say but don't like the new format for Scrapheap Challange. However my Sundays mornings have taken on a new excitment since all the old series are being repeated on ABCTV (Australia Broadcasting) - a very watchable repeat series. LISA AND ROBERT - LISA AND ROBERT - LISA AND ROBERT - LISA AND ROBERT - PLEASE

  13. Why would you change the format to a long running, popular and successful show? What an AWFUL muck up this really is. Return Rodgers and Llewellyn forthwith and save the show, before its too late.

  14. The teams being given some money and 4 weeks to complete their project, is by definition NOT a Scrapheap Challenge. Dick Strawbridge has done some excellent shows in the past but is definitely not the ideal person for this 'revised' version. Bring back the original format with Robert Llewellyn and Lisa Rogers, there were many enjoyable memorable moments of shear mechanical madness. The revised version is, I am afraid, only fit for the scrapheap

  15. what have you done! without lisa or roberts unique presenting abillities the show has become barely watchable. not having the challenge take place at the same place during the same time has removed the excitement of the challenge. the editing of new format is patronising. i dont like it anymore.

  16. What a dissapointment. Never has a show been more inaccuratly named. There is simply no scrapheap challenge at all. The pretend scrapheap the Diamonds had to work in was clearly artificial, and the fact that they had no competition for the parts reduced it all to a shopping mall of scrap. None of the teams have any time pressure applied to them and its reduced what used to be an exciting challenge in a program about some geezers tinkering about with bits of machinery. Do us all a favour and pull the plug on this one. Please!

  17. This new format for scrapheap challenge isn't in keeping with the previous series. If the format were the same then maybe it could be good. it's not the same as the teams aren't just building stuff from the heap. they get ?450 to spend on other items of scrap. It's also not the same without robert llewellyn and cathy rogers come on channel 4, the next series should be the same format as the old series, where the teams only use the stuff they find on the scrapheap, and not be able to go to other sites. The teams should only have the 10 hrs build time too instead of the 4 weeks. Also, the teams should compete against each other without having an expert team to try and beat. This new format is too much like full metal challenge, but without the foreign teams. The series was good but now i think this new series won't be as popular. Bring back the old format channel 4.

  18. I have to say i do aggree with most of the statements, maybe the next series could be re-tweeked for all teams to be in the yard. I appreciate that this format is propably far cheaper to produce but it has lost its appeal in equal measure. I will try and keep watching but i wont make a bee line for it anymore. shame

  19. Oh Dear. I think changing the format especially dropping the adorable Lisa Rodgers was a huge mistake which may have consequence on viewing figures. Dick Strawbridge is a top bloke but while a good expert and participant is not a good presenter. Hope it works but don't think I'll be watching again.

  20. I can only agree with 99% of the other comments, a once good show that that has been ruined by the change of format.

  21. Was looking forward to the new series, but very diappointed. Old format was good fun but also a real challenge. Don't find the new format anywhere near as interesting or entertaining. Not likely to watch anymore in the series. Shame a good format has been abandoned.

  22. well done channel 4 the only change of presenter the would have worked was dick strawbridge.. sorry to say the format "wacky racers " is great for a small addition but the original formula is best ..take a look back to series 1 low budget limited scrap.. this was still better than this one will stick with it and hope it improves,, used to love chilling out after hard days riding ,sunday meal crack open a beer in time for scrap heap

  23. I have just watched this week's scrapheap challenge (30th Aug 09),it was completely appalling....... this programme is a completely new show in its own right and maybe should have been called something like "Dicks Diamonds", but you should not use the name of "Scrapheap Challenge" to try and give it some credibility..... I think you have made a mistake with this one, you should bring back Scrapheap in its original format or just let it lay to rest...

  24. What have you done to Scrapheap Challenge? What used to be an exciting competition over a limited time period is now so boring. Four weeks for a build! Some Tristram needs the boot. The repeat of the Meercats on BBC2 is more exciting.

  25. I don't like this new format and especially not the new presenter. Dick's voice sounds like he's presenting Play School. It really grates, having to listen to him - constantly. "Hey, listen up children, oooh, once upon a time, Channel4 dummed the show down 4U." Plus, there's toooooooo much guff talked on team players' backgrounds. Great tip Channel4: don't try to fix what isn't broken. There's plenty of other crap on TV which needs fixing first. You've made it really boring now. So please bring back the old Scrapheap format.

  26. Just watching the new series/format and I am utterly underwhelmed. What was wrong with the old format? Two teams, ten hours, simple. The new format is bland and lifeless. Too much talking and not enough building. Disgusted.

  27. why? this used to be a program i looked forward to watching, not any more, the format change to the road show type is a very poor idear, the teams competing on the heap was the best bit.

  28. Great to have Scrapheap back and the new format is really good - it's fun to watch 4 builds going on at once and the competition is even better than before because there are more teams.

  29. I just started watching the new series of scrapheap, getting fed up why change a format that works robert lewellyn and lisa rogers far better. The new programme so bitty and all over the place, before you could follow each team to show what they were doing over 10 hours, This new format all over the country is very confusing and disappointing , I am sorry to say they have spoilt a show that did did not need changing ,Will not be watching anymore sorry to say ,

  30. i have to complain about the new format and presenters, you have got rid of all that was good about scrapheap challenge. what made it good was limited time, rivalry on site and no money, now its just rubbish and no fun at all
