Saturday September 10 begins the year-long countdown to the hotly awaited London 2012 Paralympic Games. To mark the event, Sainsbury's have joined forces with top pop acts such as Pixie Lott, Chipmunk and The Sugababes and enlisted top Paralympic athletes including Paralympic gold medal-winning swimmer Ellie Simmonds, to create a one-day festival to remember.
Sainsbury's Super Saturday will not only be showcasing the talents of star athletes and performers, but will also allow festival attendees to get in on their own slice of the action, with many a sporting hero on hand to guide visitors through games of Goal Ball, wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball.
To buy tickets for the family-friendly event, taking place at Clapham Common on September 10, check out the official event page. All profits from the day-long event will go to the Paralympic Legacy Fund, set up in conjunction with ParalympicsGB to support Paralympic athletes as well as promoting healthier and more active lifestyles for younger people regardless of ability.
