It's the class's biggest challenge yet: they only have one week to transform themselves into a bona fide band good enough to open for Judas Priest in LA in front of 20,000 hardcore rock fans.
But Gene is in despair as his fledgling band is in disarray. Golden boy Little Chris's halo has slipped, and his performance last week has cost him place in the band. For the rest of the class, the pressure to make the band is building, and some can barely conceal their bitter rivalry.
Gene finally announces the line-up, and reveals that the whole class will be going to California. It's a daunting and overwhelming challenge for the band as they prepare to face their public.
Can they come together and finally prove to Gene - and some unforgiving fans - that they really can rock?
