Garden centre manager Geoff Sim and hairdresser Chrissie Bolger are fed up with their dead end jobs and want a better life. They decide the way out is to set up a stylish hair salon in Southampton.
The problem is, Geoff knows nothing about hairdressing - and Chrissie knows nothing about business. But Geoff is a driven man. Passed over in his bid to become a pro footballer, he's determined not to let any obstacle stand in his way this time. Despite having no money between them, Geoff and Chrissie's modest plan to open a small salon snowballs to a half-a-million-pound venture, putting their families and everything they own at risk. As their dream spirals out of control, Geoff and Chrissie resort to desperate measures to raise the money.
