Two Manchester couples decide to leave their jobs, sell their homes and buy a hotel together in North Wales. Jose Mendes and his partner Irene Robinson are best friends with Henrique and Jo Fino.
The four of them decide to take the plunge and become their own bosses; selling their homes to finance the business and giving up well-paid secure jobs, they are risking everything to buy and completely refurbish the Castlebank Hotel, a nine-bedroom run-down Victorian relic in the idyllic setting of Conwy. But from the start the new hoteliers are in at the deep end - not only working together for the first time, but living together 24/7.
With no money for staff, they take over the hotel in the peak season, and decide to renovate the whole place themselves during the busiest months. The big question is, what'll give first - the friendship, the marriages or the money?
