Development is peace and peace brings about development. We must commend this courageous group of women for their role in bringing about peace in LIBERIA.Most importantly, the women need to be supported to continue dialogue and engagement with duty bearers in a non-confrontational manner to promote the rights of women and children. They need to advocate for more potable water, decent sanitation and hygiene facilities in schools and in homes to lessen the burden of women and girls so that women can undertake income generating activities to earn more money to take care of their children and ensure peace in their homes. With the availability of water, sanitation and hygiene facilities and services, children can stay longer at school and learn harder to become responsible citizens. Peace education should be intensified at schools and civic education promoted at all levels of national development.
