When I first saw North Square back in 2000, I thought it was the best thing I had seen in years; having just re-discovered it on 4OD, I still think the same; terrific writing, sharp characterisation, makes John Deed look like a sleepwalk. Phil Davis has never been better, and it's interesting to see how many of the cast went on to bigger?, better? things. I can't believe the producers stopped at just one series, does anyone know why?
