This film profiles novelist, poet and essayist Herta Müller, the Nobel Literature Laureate of 2009.
Herta Müller was raised in a German-speaking community under the oppressive communist regime of Ceaucescu's Romania, and emigrated to Germany in 1987.
The award coincides with the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism. Award-winning director Guy Evans interviews Herta Müller on her home turf in Berlin and provides a fascinating insight into a writer whose life experiences have had a huge influence on her work.
