John Parlour works for the local loan agency arranging finance agreements for the residents. Making wishes come true, John is a born seller and friend to all his clients, particularly single mum Jo Weller.
But, when he is viciously attacked he looses his swagger as well as his job and he finds himself living amongst the people he once lorded it over.
Through this story, Marchant has weaved a compelling love story that crosses the financial divide but which seems as volatile as its protagonists and threatens to be as destructive as the industry from which it sprung.
