Simon's mother, Jane Hales, is doing a charity walk in April 2011 to raise money for the charity Headway(opens in a new window). Janes writes about the event and explains how you can support her.
Myself and three work colleagues, Paul, Sally and Richard, have signed up (with a couple of extra mad people!) to walk a section of the Great Wall of China next April to raise money for Headway(opens in a new window), the brain injury charity.
We will be organising a number of fundraising events, to include a Clarins Ladies Lunch and a Gala Dinner, as a group, and also challenging ourselves personally. For me, the Rutland Water Marathon on 7th November 2010.
Headway are a relatively low profile charity since unless you are personally affected by brain injury you just don't hear about them.
Simon's accident has certainly brought them to my attention. The support system they offer to both brain injury sufferers, their family and friends, is second to none.
Please dig deep in order to help us achieve our target. Any offers of raffle prizes or ideas for further fund raising very welcome!
