Christmas is a time of hope. Randy's planning to ask Catalina out, and Earl is hoping he's got enough baloney to cross off Number 146 - Stole Gay Kenny's Sandwiches in Fifth and Sixth Grade. Delivering 274 sandwiches is easy enough, but after they see Kenny get dumped Earl offers to give him macho lessons.
While Randy continues to work on the perfect date, and Joy joins an anger management group (along with Nescobar-A-Lop-Lop, who compulsively steals pens), the macho lessons soon get out of control. What begins at The Crab Shack sinking a few brewskis and betting on the dogs soon escalates.
Earl's luck holds gambling at an illegal chicken pooping game in an alley where two dudes got stabbed, just next to the dumpster where the wild dogs ate a bums arm, but it runs out when he refuses to give Catalina a lift to work so he can keep betting.
After she's picked up by the cops speeding to Club Chubby, Earl realises his addiction has not only cost Kenny his furniture, but Randy his date and - once the authorities discover her fake ID papers - Catalina her freedom.
