My Funniest Year: 2000

My Funniest Year: 2000

My Funniest Year - Rufus Hound

Channel 4 brings viewers the perfect Saturday night in with this brand-new comedy extravaganza. In a new format, a comedian tells the story of a year as it's never been told before, to a live audience at the Hackney Empire theatre. Over the course of a two-hour stand-up set the host recounts the most embarrassing, entertaining and memorable stories of the year, illustrating them with the best and funniest clips from the time.

In this programme, comedian Rufus Hound asks viewers to cast their minds back to a more innocent time - a mere ten years ago.

2000 was the year when Keith Chegwin hosting a naked game show set in a jungle was considered family viewing, and we were all worried that our video recorders were going to be eaten alive by the Millennium Bug. Bush was declared US President, and more significantly, Craig was declared winner of the first series of Big Brother. Outrageous clips, cracking stand-up and studio guests act as guides through these iconic events and more.

My Funniest Year proves that 2000 really was an annus hilarious
