Missing People

This charity offers a help to missing people, their families and those who care for them. In addition they search for missing people and take calls from anyone wanting to report a missing person.

Missing People offers a support for anyone who has ran away or been forced to leave home; this is a confidential service and calls will not be traced. Advisors are available to talk through your situation, assess options and if requested, contact a family member or carer.

Runaway Helpline

This is a dedicated helpline for children and young people who are away from home or care. Staff and volunteers provide advice 24-hours a day by phone, email and text; they can also help get you to a place of safety if you feel you can't return home. If you're under 18 you can call these numbers free from main mobile phone service providers.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army has a Family tracing service, reuniting family members that have lost contact with each other. A nominal tracing fee is payable which covers part of the expenses for a search.
Please note: although they have an impressive success record there are certain criteria to be met for a case to be taken on. Enquiries are undertaken to locate close adult relatives for the purpose of reconciliation only and do not undertake searches in circumstances where adoption has taken place or where a birth occurred outside of marriage.

Offers a helpline and email service for young people up to age 25, in order to find the best support whatever their problem. They can advise anyone thinking of leaving home, or who has left home already.
