Season two of the provocative US drama finds Dr William Masters looking for a new job after being fired from the maternity hospital and Virginia Johnson working for Dr DePaul.

The ramifications of Masters' disastrous presentation ripple beyond his firing from the maternity hospital as Libby, worried about supporting their new baby, pushes him to get another job
Episode 2 - Kyrie Eleison
Masters begins his new job at Memorial Hospital - under Betty's extortive terms - only to find his new boss insisting he leave Johnson behind in favour of a hand-picked secretary
Episode 3 - Fight
Masters delivers a baby with ambiguous genitalia and urges the parents not to surgically assign the infant a gender out of either fear or a desire for convenience
Episode 4 - Dirty Jobs
Langham sees Masters and Johnson leaving a hotel room after an evening tryst and brings his suspicions to DePaul, causing problems between the two women and putting Johnson's job in jeopardy
Episode 5 - Giants
Masters carries on breaking new ground by continuing his study while working as the only white physician at a hospital for black patients, but it comes at the cost of his gynaecology practice
Episode 6 - Blackbird
After Hendricks bans Masters from using black participants in his study, Masters contacts a journalist to promote his efforts, using the debunking of black sexual stereotypes as the lure
Episode 7 - Asterion
In the wake of Masters discovering that Johnson has continued to have romantic relationships with other men, he becomes impotent and ends their joint participation as subjects in the sexual study
Episode 8 - Mirror, Mirror
Masters privately treats a couple for infertility without revealing his relationship to them. Libby is unnerved after witnessing a hate crime that is then whitewashed by the police.
Episode 9 - Story of My Life
While mining their shared history over a family dinner, Masters bristles at Frank's insinuations about Estabrooks' demons
Episode 10 - Below the Belt
Johnson, having finally learned of Masters' sexual difficulties, is invigorated by the prospect of finding a cure. When Masters learns of a rival study, he calls in a public relations expert to help.
Episode 11 - One for the Money, Two for the Show
A television crew arrives at the clinic to document Masters and Johnson's work in treating sexual dysfunction. Libby feels displaced.
Episode 12 - The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
After watching an early cut of the television documentary, Masters is disturbed by the whitewashing of his work
