Support after Murder and Manslaughter (SAMM)
SAMM offer understanding and support to families and friends who have been bereaved as a result of murder or manslaughter. You can call their helpline on 0845 872 3440 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm), where your call will be answered by someone who has suffered a similar tragedy. Cruse Bereavement Care
Supporting all bereaved people, Cruse Bereavement Care offer advice, support, help and information, no matter how recently or long ago your loved one died. The UK Network of Sex Work Projects (UKNSWP)
UKNSWP is a voluntary association of agencies and individuals working with sex workers. They aim to promote the health, safety, civil and human rights of sex workers, including their rights to live free from violence, intimidation, coercion or exploitation. To engage in their work as safely as possible, and to receive high quality health and other services. To find out about projects in your area go to www.uknswp.org. Under 'Resources' you can read and download useful publications including one on Safety Advice for Sex Workers.
FRANK
Many young people are driven to prostitution to fund a drug habit. The drugs helpline FRANK provides information and support on any issues to do with drugs. Their helpline is free, confidential and open 24 hours a day on 0800 77 66 00. You can email your problem to frank@talktofrank.com or check out their website at www.talktofrank.com. There's also a textphone service for the hard of hearing on 0800 917 8765.
Crimestoppers
If you want to report a crime, but are uncomfortable going directly to the police, you can call Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 111 lines are open 24 hours a day. Crimes can be reported in confidence, anonymously if you prefer, and calls are not traced. Find out more at the website www.crimestoppers-uk.org where you can also find a form to report a crime.
Victim Supportline
This organisation can provide help and information for anyone who has been affected by a crime including a violent or sexual assault. It doesn't matter when the crime took place or what type of crime it was. You might not want to involve the police but want someone to listen to how you feel. If you do want to go to the police, they can help you deal with this and can accompany you at court. Call them on 0845 30 30 900 on Monday to Friday 9am to 9pm or Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 7pm and Bank Holidays 9am to 5pm. Typetalk users should dial 18001 0845 30 30 900.
