Six-year-old Paige had never slept a full night in her own bed, leaving her mum Jo exhausted. Crying to be with her mum soon after she had gone to bed, Paige wouldn't even go to her own bed - opting to climb straight into her mum's bed instead.
Jo Frost quickly identified the power games young Paige was playing and gave her worn-out mum tips on how to be strong and deal with her daughte's habit. After a strained first night, Paige didn't sleep in her mum's bed for the first time - sleeping on the floor outside her mum's bedroom door. To help get Paige into her own room at last, Jo stressed to Paige's mum the need to enforce consequences on her little girl if she didn't as she was told and stay in sleep in her bed all night.
Paige's mum had to step up on her discipline and it was this that finally made her daughter turn a corner. She says of Paige, 'she's a changed person; a changed child'. Now, not only do mum and daughter both sleep better, but Paige's energy can be put to better uses like after-school clubs and it has also freed up some precious spare time for her mother: 'I've started a nursing degree; It's brilliant.'
