Job: Musician, DJ, entrepreneur and co-founder of top 80’s group Soul II Soul. In 1986, Soul II Soul signed to Virgin and enjoyed chart success with Keep On Moving and Back To Life. In 1990 it received two Grammys. Soul II Soul have now sold over 6.8 million albums in over 35 territories worldwide. Jazzie has also produced and re-mixed tracks for James Brown, Public Enemy, Isaac Hayes, Sinead O’Connor, Ziggy Marley, The Jones Girls, Nas and Destiny's Child. He once shared a dressing room with Sammy Davis Jnr.
Background, hobbies & interests: A careers advisor at Jazzie’s school said he couldn’t get a job in the music industry and he should be a milkman or a BT engineer instead. Based on this advice, Jazzie opted for his second passion after music and went to college to train as a PE teacher. After six months Jazzie decided it wasn’t for him, so he and his school friend, Daddae, set up Soul II Soul instead.
