  1. Hey Gok, you certainly know how to make a woman feel good. Would you please do the same for me? I am 46 and have been single now for just over a year after my husband and I separated. I'm beginning to feel there is something wrong with me and my body. Please please help

  5. I just wanted to say Gok you have made such a difference to so many women who live with disiblity,as self image for most is so low as,they not only have the fashion worlds idea of female beauty is?? try feel sexy and female when you are born with disablity when the world tells you that your not normal.Gok the first time someone has said to the world that you can be a sexy woman and have a disablity .I work with young women with a disablity, and your show has opened their eyes to what can be done when you look and see beauty in being different.I am a woman with a disablity, and I wish your had been around when I was a teen,it would have made life easier than it was ,but even now we still face the same issues .When will the fashion world understand that women come in so many shaps and sizes.Has Gok thought about doing a show on weddings and women with disablity. Now thats fun .Almost sent me into padded cell?? Gok if you ever come to dublin I would love you to come and talk to the young adults with disibilities in the Ass.GOK you are the best .KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

  7. Gok, I watched this episode with great interest as I recognised the name having met Di over 20 years ago when I was very young through school/girl guides in Exeter where we raised funds for the local branch of the Guide Dogs for the Blind charity - she came with her dog to our school/group. This episode was very touching and I was in tears several times. Di is an amazing lady and looked fantastic. Best episode ever.

  15. Hi Gok, We've been a fan of your show since the beginning, and now have my husband Phil addicted too! We record the show and then sit down en famille to watch. We're just catching up with you and Di Cram from Exeter, and are just blown away with your compassion and humour towards a tricky, for you, topic. We were all in tears when you helped Di envision her true body with your hand-shaping, rather than the square box she imagines herself to be. We are truly touched and humbled by you. I hope you gain some industry recognition for all you have done, at least an award for this particular episode. Keep up the message of 'normal'. We applaud you. Jenny Phil and Katie Hart

  16. Hi there,Gok your a star! I watched this show with great intreast on tuesday 2nd feb with Di, as my dad was involved in a major accident 2 years ago which almost took his life away, he is brain damaged from it and has now gone totally blind thro it, he stuggles alot and has had to learn everything again which is a slow prosess, this show helped me alot to help my dad, the one thing i thought was good was the gadget Di had to help her with colours, i find it very hard to find things like that that will make my dads life better and more independant. I would apreiciate it if she could tell me were i could get one. Also a question for Di... how did you cope with being in a pasenger in a car because my dad panics and i don't no how to help him, do you have any pointers? many thanks for your time, you have helped alot just watchin you on the show. many thanks Sallie xx ps. me and my mum are disabled too.

I totally agree with Patrizia and Emily, what a show Gok you treated her like a royalty with such understanding of her disability, the book was a truely great idea and the time taken to explain everything and guide her touch over the fabrics, wining her cnfidence, Gok you were truely amazing and so was Dia. Keep up the good work.

  27. Hi, Gok may i congratulate you and your team for yet another brillant programme tues 02-2010. My daugher Becky is 23yr old she is totaiily blind since birth and loves shopping in the high streets for clothes etc, she is very fussy about the texture of any clothes, jewellery etc. What i hope is that retailers themselves do take on board how diffecult it is to shop in a busy enviroment when you are totally blind.

  37. Gok is always brilliant but I felt he surpassed himself on Di's episode. I was really moved by it - his perception, sensitivity, sense of fun and amazing skill for description were wonderful - Di's comment that he really "got" her really summed it up. The magnetic shapes to help her buy in future were such a good idea.

  38. Dear Gok I watch your programme regularly but I just wanted to say how touched by the way in which you treated Di, the blind lady. You really were amazing with her. Your kindness, understanding and sincerity were second to none. I love you programme but I thought the way in which you treated Di was fantastic. It really touched me and I thought you were so sincere and really tried to "know" how it could feel to be blind - describing all the items so well. I am lucky to be an able bodied person but have worked with blind people and I am sure all blind and less abled people were really impressed by your thoughtfulness. Brilliant job - well done!

  40. I watched the program last night. I love Gok and try not to miss it. I thought last nights show was one of the best pieces of television I have seen for a long time. The way Gok spoke to Di and treated her was just so touching. Made even lovelier as he admitted that he didn't know how he would tackle it but tackle it he did. This particular series has been really good and I send my best wishes to Gok. Although I am not registered disabled I do have a condition that affects my right side and I have to wear a pressure stocking every day as without it I cannot walk far. This causes me great discomfort as it is very tight and produces a ridge at the top of my leg. This in turn stops me from wearing certain types of trousers but by watching Gok's program I have been able to find what suits me and what doesn't. I am not so confident in dresses or skirts but that will come with time. Thank you Gok and good luck in the future. x

  43. Dear Gok, Just wanted to say how amazing your latest progs are! These women are outstanding and make me proud to be female. You go girls!!! As someone with Retinitis Pigmentosa (and huge body issues) I find shopping quite scary. Because people can't "see" my disability I feel really awkward and embarrassed trying to find something that doesn't make me look fatter than I am. I am so pleased that you are spearheading this issue for disabled people and I absolutely love everything you do. Your mum and nan must be so proud of you natural gift to empathise with and not patronise your lovely girls. Please keep it up with you fab team. Both my daughters and I love you to bits. 48. I realise that the recent programmes have sparked some debate about putting people with disabilties in the spot light but as the mother of a beautiful child in a wheelchair I can only praise the sensitive and affirming way that the programmes have been adressed. The thought that has been put into how to work with people in a different way is astounding. Gok you really do have a gift for bringing out the best in people and I find it a pleasure to watch people being transformed. Disability in the spot light is a good thing especially when it is done in such a tasteful way and also raises positive awareness. I for one will be signing the petition. Di's photo was absolutely beautiful and she looked stunning. I only hope that my daughter can grow up being body confident despite her disability. Thank you Gok you're a great guy x

  50. Watched the show last night. Never seen it before and was sceptical to say the least. I just wanted to let Diane know that she is amazing! When the programme started she was a frumpy old lady. I was staggered that she was only 54. Gok's sensitivity in dealing with Diane was really genuine and very heartwarming. I am not a fan of current high street fashion, finding it lackiing in individuality, but Gok managed to find clothes that suited Diane so perfectly, so stylish without being too trendy, and it seemed that he "eased" her out of her old look and into the new one so that, by the end the transformation was truly staggering. Diane looked elegant, stylish and gently sophisticated. The colours Gok chose complimented her fabulous skin and beautiful hair perfectly (how lucky you are Diane, to have such wonderful silver hair, unlilke the "pepper and Salt" that most of us end up with). I was really moved by the programme and want Diane to know that she is a very beautiful lady. Always remember that and don't slide back! Wonderful. Congratulations

She is a wonderful woman, I know this because we meet her and her partner in the TOP HOUSE Lizard Cornwall a couple of years ago. We shared a drink together, the four of us. On leaving we thought what a marvellous person you now know she is. Seeing Di on your programm made us remember her. We would love to see her again. Could you help us with that ? 59. I really don't agree with recommending those body hugging, reinforced , thick shorts made of man made fibres like you put the magistrate who is blind in on the show this evening. This sort of underwear will have terrible ventilation.Doesn't look like there is even a cotton gusset and so will be unhealthy and bad for getting thrush, especially for women who are already overweight and have thighs that chafe.Women in their 50s can't healthily spend any amount of time trussed up like this in restraining underwear made of man made fibres! For a start they will get far too hot. If you really want to make a difference, why don't you campaign for clothing companies to make more effective underwear in 98%-100% cotton or stretchy real silk that breathes, for example. This would be great service to the 'mature' woman. You build the women's confidence so well on the shows and make them feel beautiful and then you set about containing their body shape in body armour underwear in nasty material which looks horribly uncomfortable and unwearable on a day to day basis. You don't seem to consider the quality of the materials and how they make people feel. How about some natural fibres that breathe!!

  63. i love the disabled campaign to get the high street shops to accept disabled people need clothes too. i would love for gok to also campaign for the older middle aged ladies. im 49 (but inside im still in my 30's)and feel that i miss out in the shops. older women have places like bon marche. younger ones new look etc. i feel i dont want to dress too young but im not ready to accept that im into granny clothes yet. from what i gather from my own freinds they feel the same. also as a size 20 lower regions and a size 16/18 top i find clothes shops a lot of them dont cater for me. but im not yet big enough for shops like evans and yours. i also end up permanently in trousers. can gok do a programme for barrel shaped ladies. i feel theres a lot of us out there. i never where skirts cos i feel they accentuate my big tummy. i cant help the way im shaped and my boyfreind loves me just the way i am. i dont want to diet cos even when i do i still cant get rid of my shape. i just want to know what i can wear and what i cant. and please do a prgramme about keeping it cheap. as a single mum on benefits i only shop in charity shops. but i do end up with a load of stuff that i buy just cos it fits me and not cos i look good. ive bought a lot of mistakes in my time. i also have arthritus in my right knee and my surgeon has said i can only wear cushioned shoes. great for comfort but not good for a fashion conscious shoeaholic who is mourning not being able to wear fashionable shoes any more. thank you for listening. karen connolly ps wish i could reconmend myself cos ive been to hell and back in the last year but i dont think im allowed. anyways im not lacking in confidence just body confidence. just full of anger, frustration and despair.

  65. As a person who generally does not send emails etc and comment on programmes, I have to say that watching Gok tonight with this lady has confirmed my previous view that Gok is a most sincere and genuinely lovely person, unlike some of the recent "make over" presenters. On his previous shows he is totally understanding of what is best for each of his ladies and more so with this current series of ladies with disabilities. I have never seen a presenter that is so in tune with every person he deals with. He is totally sympathetic in a positive way and an inspiration to all. He should certainly be in line for some kind of award - not sure which one!! I have to say he would be top of my list as one person I would love to meet and say thank you on behalf of all women. He is totally amazing. I joke with my sons about being Gokked but know this would never happen and am happy to experience the joy his ladies feel every time they are Gokked. Keep up the good work Gok, you should be proud of yourself. I cannot believe I am sending this but hay ho!!

  67. I've been a huge fan since your very first programme but I think your latest series with Tracy, Claire and Di has been excellent. And Di's naked photo shoot is the most beautiful image yet! I don't know how you are going to top that (or this series either!) Please don't stop all the amazing work you are doing.

  69. Dear Gok, I totally agree with SARAH DODSONS comments on 30 January 2010 at 15:43. You are a truely caring, inspiring person. It seems to be a national sport these days for women to hate their bodies. Where does this come from? Yours is the only programme, on telly, I know of, that not only bucks the trend for the body perfect but helps women love the bodies they have. I find the programme so positive. It is not patronising and the advice you give the women genuinely works and also helps all the viewers at home love their bodies a bit more to. The recent episodes on disabilities were so cleverly done, especially to one with Di Cram, the lady who was blind. The show really addressed the different ways of showing someone how to dress, even if the person can't see herself in the clothes! I believe you helped her be independent in dressing for the first time since she lost her sight. Your unique gift for building bonds and trust with these women, and listening to their body fears, helps turn them around into body loving ladies. Luuuuuuuv it. There should be more inclusive programmes like this celebrating all types of beauty. Well done to all the team that help make this the best show on the box.

  71. The programme with the lady who was blind touched me and I am sure yourself, we need to do something as women about this. I buy calender's about breat cancer survivors and I am sure women thoughout the uk will by something similar. We love the programme you do and the way you give women confidence to do the show. You must do something for them. We are all behind you in this. Believe in the women that you inspire....

  72. great!ou are at last promoting the beauty of ALL of us. we are all individuals and we must celebrate it! if we were all the same life would be very boring!! we must all accept and celebrate that we all have our individual carateristics, all too aften nowadays - as a teacher- i come across girls and boys who dream of becoming a new Jordan or boy band, which is sad as it is much more of an achievement to become our own individual self. We are all not perfect - and yet indeed there is no one like us - and cheers for that! I have worked with disabled young people and do indeed know the reaction that can come across from many- but i am sure your program will help to overcome that , keep it up Gok. x

My mum felt so uplifted with the positive message you were giving out to everyone. She wants me to record the programmes for her! Ur a legend and an inspiration and so is di! Xx

  83. Thankyou for an amazing show, with tears in my eyes of how beautiful Di looked and felt, the whole concept of image and true real beauty were illustrated. The false, plastic and superficial image of celebrity are exposed to their shallow self. Di and her family are a true inspriation.

  89. I vote wholeheartedly for people of all shapes, sizes, flavours and sexes appearing in fashion ads. It'd be great to see fashion ads representing all of us, not just thin alien looking ones - so many models just look weird! Thanks for the inspiration Gok. I've been re-cycling and decorating clothes like a woman possessed thanks to your shows and I'm having a lovely time re-discovering what a laugh fashion can be. ;-) Kate

It shows that they are beautiful just like everyone else and it would be nice to see more of them shopping along with everyone else! xx

  93. This show has me crying every week. Gok, you make me see that everyone, regardless of age, sex, size or ability (rather than disability) is beautiful. Maybe me crying is that you instill in people power to see what others see. This show should win awards!

  94. It has been fantastic to see disabled people being treated as real women. The show has really shown that everyone's bodies should be celebrated. I like Gok's sensitivity. I hope that firms in the fashion industry (whether at the concept stage or through to the retailer) will take on board that real women, whether disabled or not should be given the opportunity to be empowered.

  99. Hi Gok I absolutely love your show HTLGN, it's such a positive and inspirational programme. I have really enjoyed these disability specials, it just goes to show that no matter what your disablility is, you can still look gorgeous and confident. The makeovers so far have been just amazing, inspiring, all that courage and confidence building is what makes this show so unique. All the hard work is down to you, you are the person that makes these women feel good about themselves. You are a very loving and caring person and i will always admire that. I hope the show continues to grow with great success. I am so excited about watching the episode with Di Cram who is blind. This will be really inspirational for me as my Mum works with young adults who are visually impaired. I can't wait to see this episode, Di is one amazing and fab woman. I know you will make her look fabulous and give her back her confidence. Keep up the good work Gok. Love you always Sarah XXXXX
