Clare talks about fashion and how appearing on the show changed her attitude to herself.

How did you feel before you met Gok?
I felt like a circus sideshow, a freak and a lollipop (Gok's favourite expression)! I felt that people were staring at me because I had one leg. I felt they were looking at what was missing, and not me as a whole.

How do you feel about your body now?
Now I feel attractive and sexy. I feel so confident when I wear my leg, and, although I don't feel as confident when I don't wear it, I am still proud to be who I am... the one-legged lady! !

What has been the biggest change for you during this experience?
Accepting my disability and smiling with confidence. Having the opportunity to walk without crutches and therefore having the freedom to use my arms and hands.

What would be your advice to other men and women out there who may be in a similar situation to you?
Don’t waste energy being negative and constantly putting yourself down. Try something new today, experiment with your clothes.

What has been the biggest challenge for you during this experience?
Letting go of all my fears, especially the negative thoughts and feelings about myself.

How has this experience affected your confidence?
It has made me feel more positive about myself, and made me realize that being different isn’t a bad thing. We all see beauty in different ways; for me, beauty is about having inner confidence and always wearing a smile.

What are your top three style tips?
-Wear the right underwear - this goes without saying
-Flash your best bits! By drawing attention to your best assets, you will be more confident.
-Wear a smile - wearing the most amazing outfit will look nothing unless you smile

What is your favourite item of clothing or accessory?
My boots! Before the show I lived in trainers. Now, I’ve been able to wear heels and to walk again.
