Series 2 Summary
The second season of the compelling US thriller finds former CIA agent Carrie Mathison on the slow path to recovery and freshman Congressman Nicholas Brody serving his first term in office.
As the situation at home and abroad escalates, their worlds are set to collide once more. Will Carrie finally be vindicated for the truth she was so close to uncovering? Can Brody keep his head above water, as opposing powers use him like a pawn in their games?
Episode 1 - The Smile
Months after Carrie's expulsion from the CIA and the dramatic events that prompted her to undergo electro-convulsive therapy, the former CIA officer is on the slow path to recovery and has found a degree of peace within the protective embrace of her suburban family.
However, the progress she has made towards repairing her mental health is threatened when an asset from her former life as an agent - the abused wife of a Hezbollah commander - comes to the American Embassy in Beirut, offering information about an attack against the United States.
Nicholas Brody, several months into his inaugural term as a Congressman, finds himself torn by the competing agendas of those who have influence over him.
With every lie that Brody is forced to tell, the walls around him close in a little tighter, as he realises that his attempts to change the face of American foreign policy through non-violent means may not be good enough for a vengeful Abu Nazir.

Meanwhile, Jessica steps into the political limelight, taking risks of her own.
Episode 4 - New Car Smell
Estes is stunned by information given to him by Saul during a secret debrief. He authorises a covert operation to pursue intelligence recovered in Beirut, but not without putting his own trusted operative in charge first.
Still reeling from his misadventures with the bomb-maker, Brody gets another shock when he runs into Carrie at Langley. However, a casual invitation to bury the hatchet turns into an encounter that neither of them could have foreseen.
Meanwhile, Dana discovers that she has something in common with Finn Walden, the Vice President's son.

Brody finds himself a prisoner again, but this time on American soil.
Carrie is forced to play second fiddle after her rash judgement call at the hotel, while Estes is kept busy making sure that Jessica stays off their trail.

Episode 8 - I'll Fly Away
The lies that are tangling his relationships with Carrie, Roya and Jessica leave Brody heading for a serious meltdown as he struggles to keep his complicated alliances separate.
Against Quinn's orders, Carrie stages a risky intervention to keep Brody in line, forcing both of them to confront their mixed emotions.
Meanwhile, as Dana turns to an unlikely source for comfort, her father comes face to face with his deadly past.

In an effort to clarify his priorities, Brody makes a necessary phone call before things spiral further out of control.

While the Brody family enjoys an all-expenses-paid holiday of sorts, Carrie is preparing for the most important breakfast meeting of her career.

When Saul catches up with an old friend, he discovers evidence of covert activities by Estes.
Brody and Vice President Walden find themselves at odds over the future of their political relationship, while Dana and Finn come to terms with their own differences.
However, it's Carrie, seemingly at the top of her game, who turns out to be more in the dark than anyone else.
Episode 11 - In Memoriam
Becoming exhausted, Carrie continues to hunt for Nazir, her suspicion turning towards the CIA itself.

The Brody family struggles to maintain anything close to a state of sanity.
