Series 1 Episode 1
First Broadcast:

First of a four-part series of how we came to consider homeowning as a right. In the British imagination, property holds the promise of a better life, a life that we own, rather than rent. A hundred years ago only one in ten of us were what was quaintly called 'men of property' but now 70% of us own our own homes, or rather, the mortgage company owns us.
