Mike Leigh's Oscar-nominated comedy-drama stars Sally Hawkins as Poppy, a perpetually optimistic primary school teacher.
After introducing her friends, and setting up Poppy's character, Leigh moves the plot along with the introduction of Scott (Eddie Marsan), Poppy's misanthropic driving instructor, who is her exact opposite.
As her lessons progress, in tandem with a tentative romance, the relationship between the pair develops in one of the sharpest comedies of recent years.
