Brix Smith Start joined the legendary British band The Fall in 1983 as a guitarist/singer/songwriter. She recorded and released numerous albums with The Fall and left for good back in 1996. She went on to release 2 solo albums under the name Adult Net in the years following The Fall.
Brix has since gone on to pursue a career in acting, presenting and most notably, in fashion.
Having launched her first boutique START with her husband Philip Start in 2002, they have since pretty much taken over Rivington Street in East London, with 3 boutiques and online store START LONDON.
The START stores are A-list boutiques, and are considered to be amongst the best stores in the world (cited so by Vogue April 2010).
Brix is one of the most recognized faces in fashion and works on multiple TV projects. She has most recently completed her second series on Gok's Fashion Fix (Channel 4) as Gok's rival stylist.
She is a series regular on Top Dog (Animal Planet), and has also appeared on The Culture Show (BBC TV), Tough Gig (ITV), John Peels Record Box (Channel 4), presented a weekly item 'What's Hot and What's Not' on LK Today (ITV), Pet Nation (Sky One) and appeared as a fashion expert on Style On Trial (BBC) to name but a few!
Brix acts as Grazia's fashion correspondent for Grazia TV over London Fashion Week, as well as filming for her own online channel Start Television.
Most recently, Brix co-presents Fashion Friday's on Sky One's Angela & Friends.
