Turn a piece of old rope in to a glam belt, with a little help from Gok Wan, as seen in Gok's Clothes RoadShow.
Follow these simple instructions to make a trouser, waist or hip belt.
Step 1Use a friend or a mannequin to measure the amount of rope you will need - if you're making the belt for yourself, measure the rope around your own body.
Step 2Decide how thick you want the belt to be - four lengths of rope will create a chunky waist belt. You will need a further six or seven inches to create a knot in the centre of the belt.
Step 3Feed the rope through the eyes of the two keyrings, and hold one keyring at either end of the lengths of rope.
Step 4Once you've fed four lengths of rope through the keyrings, leave a small amount of rope loose. Use this to secure the rope to the keyring. Wrap it around the ends, as close to the keyring as possible.
Step 5Feed the cord back through the ring and tie the ends tightly with a sailor's knot. Repeat the process for the other end and chop off any excess rope.
Step 6Feed the cord back through the ring and tie the ends tightly with a sailor's knot. Repeat the process for the other end and chop off any excess rope.
Step 7Use the two keyrings to fasten the belt together.
