  In this episode the patients' symptoms of withdrawal are being controlled by medication and sedation, while their concerned families can only look on.

• Episode 4

  This episode sees the patients' sedation stopped and they experience the full effects of withdrawal while awake.

• Episode 5

  Almost all the heroin has left the patients' systems and their bodies are getting back to normal: this means the reversal of constipation, ravenous hunger, and the outpouring of long-buried emotions.

• Episode 6

  In this episode the patients' bodily functions are returning and they receive small doses of medication to flush out any remaining heroin or methadone and act as an opiate block. The patients are allowed to speak to their families for the first time since they arrived at the clinic.

• Episode 7

  In this episode the patients are given medical checks to assess if they are ready to go home to their families.

• Episode 8

  In this episode the patients leave the clinic after four days of intensive treatment and are reunited with their families, who see them clean for the first time in years.

• Episode 9

  The patients have been off heroin for four days but in the protected environment of the clinic. Will they be able to stay off it now that they have returned home to old temptations?

• Going Cold Turkey - Revisited

  This epsode follows Darren, Alison and Amanda in their first few weeks back in the real world as they try and stay clean. Before long the pressure kicks in as the ex-addicts have to face up to all the problems of normal life, dealing with family, filling the time left by their old habit and avoiding local dealers.
