Mark Waters - who also made Freaky Friday and Mean Girls - directs this romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey as Connor Mead, a womanising bachelor who returns to the family fold for his brother Paul's (Breckin Meyer) wedding.
The commitment-phobic singleton has a particularly jaundiced view of love, and thinks nothing of causing chaos on his sibling's big day.
But, before too much damage can be done, Connor is visited by the ghost of his late uncle, Wayne (Michael Douglas), who tells him to expect visitations from spirits intent on putting his love life back on track.
And, sure enough, Allison Vandermeersh (Emma Stone) - his high school lover - materialises and points out how close he and wedding guest Jenny Perroti (Jennifer Garner) were back then.
But can this spectral jolt put him right? Will Jenny be even the slightest bit interested after all these years? And what will the Ghosts of Girlfriends Present (Noureen DeWulf) and Future (Olga Maliouk) have to say to the philanderer?
