Series 1 Summary

Welcome to Full English - on the surface it's an animated sitcom about the Johnson family. But at its heart it's a satirical look at our popular culture, our monarchy, our economy, our country today.

It's a little bit rude, puerile and silly, in the tradition of British comedy, but it also tells stories that engage with characters we care about...

Come meet the Johnson family: Dad, Edgar, his long suffering wife Wendy and their three kids - the unhinged Dusty, middle child Jason and the moody goth teen Eve.

Also in the mix is the evil (and horny) Ken, Edgar's father in law and boss - a multi-millionaire confectionary mogul who despises Edgar. Ken's only friend is a large green imaginary figment of his imagination called Squidge, who makes him do very bad things...

  • Episode 1 - Britain's Got Bloodmonkey

Eve decides to enter her band, Bloodmonkey, into Britain's Got Talent. They're not very good.

But thanks to a misunderstanding, Simon Cowell thinks her parents are dead, and the sympathy vote looks like it might propel her all the way to the final.

Meanwhile, Edgar and Wendy go away for their anniversary, but unknown to them their eldest son Dusty has stowed away as a surprise.

And Ken attempts to rekindle an old romance with Her Majesty the Queen, invoking the jealousy of his imaginary friend.

  • Episode 2 - Mangina

Edgar is ashamed after running away and leaving his family for dead during a break-in at the house. Their neighbour Johannes, who has designs on Wendy, saves the day.

Meanwhile Jason goes travelling in Thailand to find himself, while Eve accidentally summons the spirits of two great women to guide her with a Ouija board.

  • Episode 3 - Dusty and the Real Girl

Dusty surprises the family by bringing home a girl. An inflatable one. Wendy decides he needs a girlfriend so she hires him an escort... without realising what the word really means.

Meanwhile, Eve ODs on chocolate during a tour of Ken's confectionery factory. Ken has a crisis of conscience about manufacturing food that makes people fat and contemplates selling up to his arch-nemesis (and occasional squash partner) Richard Branson.

Oh, and tiny aliens plan to take over the Earth.

  • Episode 4 - Bank to the Future

Edgar decides it's time for his eldest son, Dusty, to finally make something of himself, but he's horrified when Dusty lands a job as a banker.

Meanwhile, Jamie Oliver comes back from the future and his latest crusade is helping kids pass their exams one-by-one. He takes Jason and Eve on a trip through time, but naturally things don't go to plan...

  • Episode 5 - Edgar, Interrupted

After getting slightly annoyed at work, Edgar is committed to an institution by Ken. To Edgar's surprise, the place is full of men who are hiding out from their demanding families, and he decides he quite likes it there. Until he realises the place isn't quite what it seems...

Meanwhile, Dusty is bitten by a squirrel and decides this has given him superpowers. He starts fighting crime dressed as 'Squirrelman'. And, at home, Jason tries to fill Edgar's shoes as the man of the house.
