There's festive fun for the whole family on Film4 over Christmas 2009. Bill Murray stars in Scrooged, Richard Donner's comedic take on Dickens' classic with Murray as a misanthropic TV executive taught the error of his ways.
There's also a more traditional telling of A Christmas Carol with a charming animation, voiced by Simon Callow, Kate Winslet, Nicolas Cage and Jane Horrocks. Another festive treat is Miracle on 34th Street, starring Oscar-winning Edmund Gwenn as a department store Santa who causes trouble when he insists he is the real thing.
Elf stars Will Ferrell as a child who climbed into Santa's sack but now, having reached adulthood at the North Pole, must re-join the real world and his father (James Caan).
For those who like a little gore with their goodwill, Black Christmas stars Olivia Hussey, Margot Kidder and Andrea Martin as members of a sorority house breaking up for Christmas, but not all of them live to unwrap their presents...
