Series Summary
Fran Pye is a widow in her 60s living comfortably in a London house which, bought cheaply many years ago, is now worth over half a million pounds. After she is injured and suffers amnesia as a result of intervening in a street brawl, her family tactfully suggest she sells up, which would also conveniently release some useful money to her relatives.
Fran has different views on inheritance and property and is rather more concerned that she cannot properly remember the events of that night. As she struggles to regain her memory, Fran becomes overwhelmed by a terrible sense of danger, which is mysteriously heightened by Jake - a young man living on a canal boat at the bottom of her garden.
As the flashbacks of the vicious attack become more vivid, so the tension builds. Refusing to bow to pressure, Fran is determined to get her own way.
