Share films that aren't just good - they do good too...
Launched by the Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation (BRITDOC), Good Screenings gives you the opportunity to host your own film screening for friends, colleagues or your community.
Providing access to documentary films that make you think about the world in a different way, you as a screening organiser can charge for tickets and keep the profits.

The Future of Film Distribution
It sometimes seems that the more relevant a film is to people's lives, the less of a chance people get to see it. Powerful feature documentaries which the film-makers have spent years creating can disappear into the archives after a brief stint in the cinemas (for the lucky ones) and a showing on TV. This situation had to change - which is why Channel 4 backed Good Screenings through BRITDOC.
Good Screenings points to the future of film distribution. Now anyone in the world (including you!) can buy a low-cost licence to screen a selection of excellent films.
The easy-to-use software will calculate the licence according to who you are, where you plan to run your screening and how many people you're getting along to watch. It will also show you how much you need to charge to break-even or make a profit. You can keep the profits for yourself or your organisation, or to donate to the campaign or cause.
Good Screenings launched following the success of The Age of Stupid, which has had over 1,400 local screenings to date and raised thousands for the organisations arranging the screenings. That's the beauty of the system - you screen the film, raise awareness of the key issues, help the film-makers earn a living to go on to make their next film for good, and then you get the cash you make on the night.
Screen and Discuss Erasing David
Are you troubled by the thought of ID cards, the database state and the Big Brother nation? Erasing David explores themes of identity and civil liberties in the UK in an engaging thriller format. To spread the message or debate the issues, you can book the film via Good Screenings.
We want everyone to enjoy this film and talk about why privacy matters. For example, you could take the film into work to open a discussion about data security. You could bring together your Parents Association to talk about finger printing in schools and the kind of world your children are growing into. Or, just fill your front room with a load of your friends who tend to be all too open on certain social media sites.
Each film on Good Screenings comes with a Take Action pack. This pack gives you the information and tips you need to make real change. You can download these and pass them around your audience so they all have what they need to make a difference.
