In the episode that sees many of the original cast members, including George Clooney, Eriq La Salle, Julianna Margulies and Noah Wyle, reprise their roles, Benton visits Carter in his time of need as he waits for a kidney transplant.
Meanwhile, a woman in Seattle (guest star Susan Sarandon) is grief-stricken over the sudden death of her grandson and must be persuaded by Dr Ross to donate his organs, including his kidney which will save the life of a doctor. But with time running out, Sam and Neela are stuck at the airport with the transplant organs.
