About the Show
The Embarrassing Bodies doctors offer an innovative way to raise health awareness and de-stigmatise 'embarrassing' body parts and medical conditions
Series 1 Summary
The doctors leave their surgery and come out to find the patients that desperately need their help, setting up special clinics in different UK locations. This four-part series encourages viewers to examine themselves at home and give guidance for self-examination of moles, breasts, testicles and vulvas.
Among the case studies they see are a man who needs a full body lift due to huge amounts of excess skin following weight loss and a psoriasis sufferer whose body is covered in sores and who is convinced her condition is worsening.
The second show is dedicated to breasts and all matters mammary. Among the case studies are a woman who suffers from debilitating back pain because of her large breasts and a mother whose breasts have reduced substantially post breast-feeding.
Featuring a case study of a mother who has experienced a vaginal and rectal prolapse following the birth of her large baby, and a woman who has urge incontinence. This programme also gives advice and information on commonplace conditions such as the menopause, discharge, painful periods and STIs.
The final episode this week is devoted to men's health. Case studies featured include a man who suffers from the condition gynecomastia - more commonly nicknamed "man boobs" - who wants a reduction. The show also includes a patient who is worried he will not be able to consummate his forthcoming marriage.
