'I love every second of it. You have to believe in young people. Don't accept failure.'
Entertainer, educator, evil overlord and legend are just some of the ways the students describe him - Mr Drew is the teacher you never forget.
He's a tough disciplinarian - in charge of enforcing school rules - but also has a deep understanding of, and sympathy for, the troubles that come with being a teenager.
Those students who do 'do the wrong thing' have the pleasure of spending break time in Mr Drew's office, and the benefit of listening to one of his famously exhaustive lectures.
Mr Drew has an extraordinary relationship with some of the school's most challenging students. He is a firm believer in giving children a second, third and even thirteenth chance. And secretly he can empathise because, as he admits, he was far from a model pupil himself.
Mr Drew loves his job and thrives on the fact that every day is different. His favourite part of his day is getting back to teaching history. An ardent lover of the subject, his class describe him as 'the best teacher in the school'.
