Series 1 Episode 3
First Broadcast:

In the third and final part of this eye-opening series following a year in the lives of Yorkshire farmers, winter arrives. As the weather changes for the worse the end is nigh for pig farmer Johnny Piercy. Following the dramatic fall in the price of his pigs at market, he has to diversify dramatically. First he sets up a farm stall at York market, yet when this fails to make a dent in his considerable debts he is forced to make the painful decision to sell up.

Within no time at all, the farm is snapped-up by a local businessman. For sheep farmer Norman Tinsley his policy of buying sheep cheaply in order to reap the subsidies is going well until it seems that he has been visited by sheep rustlers.
