Ths documentary uncovers Dunne's story from the Second World War service that saw him awarded the Bronze Star for bravery; to his rise and fall in Hollywood; to his later reinvention, in his fifties, as a writer.
With candid interviews from Dunne himself, and a unique insight into the writer at work, the film follows Dunne as he reports on the Phil Spector case and reflects on his life.
Dunne's reporting of the trial of John Sweeney - who was found guilty of the murder of Dunne's own daughter Dominique - was his first published piece in Vanity Fair and would change the course of his life, marking the beginning of a lifetime relationship between him and the magazine.
