Monday 16 February 2009

Last month, Channel 4 hosted a discussion with leading UK news broadcasters about the challenges of covering the conflict in Gaza. A screening of Dispatches: Unseen Gaza was followed by a discussion chaired by Channel 4 News presenter Alex Thomson.

A panel of high profile journalists - Fran Unsworth (BBC), Tim Marshall (Sky), Inayat Bunglawala (Islam Channel) and Martin Fewell (Channel 4 News) - discussed issues raised in the Dispatches programme, debating whether journalists covering the recent conflict in Gaza had been able to get the full story, and what implications this had for UK viewers.

Watch the full debate here, followed by a selection of exclusive vox pops from audience members Dr Claire Spencer (Chatham House), Trevor Barnes (Ofcom) and former BBC war correspondent Martin Bell.
