Age Concern
The Age Concern Information Line is a free service for older people and their families. Age Concern works to change peoples attitudes to older people. For information on anything that may be affecting your wellbeing, such as income, benefits, community care, health, housing, and community issues, call 0800 00 99 66 (open every day of the year 8am - 7pm). Help The Aged
Help The Aged SeniorLine is a free, impartial, confidential service that enables callers to take action themselves. Trained advice workers can help with issues such as ageism in the workplace, claiming benefits, housing advice and getting help at home. Call free on 0808 800 65 65 ( Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm).or go to www.helptheaged.org.uk. If you're in Northern Ireland call 0808 808 75 75. There's also a textphone service for those with hearing or speech problems on 0800 26 96 26.
Age Positive
It is unlawful to discriminate against employees, job seekers and trainees on the grounds of age. The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 cover workers of all ages and all employment and vocational training. The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) aim to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations.
