This message is for anyone concerned about any form of dementia including Alzheimer's, and for those caring for a dementia sufferer.

The Alzheimer's Society
The society's Helpline provides free advice, information and support for people who have concerns about Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. The helpline is staffed by trained advisers and calls are confidential. Call 0845 300 0336 (local rate, Monday - Friday 8.30am - 6.30pm). Alzheimer Scotland
Callers in Scotland should contact Alzheimer Scotland who provide information, services and practical support at over 60 sites across the country. Call their dementia helpline 0808 808 3000 (free, open 24 hours a day), or go to www.alzscot.org

For Dementia
For Dementia provide information and support for family carers, people with dementia and professionals on the Admiral Nursing Direct helpline staffed exclusively by experienced Admiral Nurses. Call 0845 257 9406 (local rate, Tuesdays 10am-4pm & 6-9pm, Thursdays 6-9pm). Messages may be left at other times and an Admiral Nurse will call back. This service is also available by email from direct@fordementia.org.uk or go to www.fordementia.org.uk for more information.

CarersLine
There's support and advice on all aspects of caring for someone on the CarersLine 0808 808 7777. Ring this number at any time to leave your details and have an information pack sent to you, but if you'd like to speak to an adviser call (free, Wednesday - Thursday 10am- 12 noon & 2-4pm). Crossroads Caring for Carers
Crossroads Caring for Carers aims to provide a reliable, tailored service for each carer and the person they care for. They have schemes in most parts of England and Wales which provide a range of services. A Crossroads service is about giving time and improving the lives of carers by giving them a break from their caring responsibilities. Age Concern
The Age Concern Information Line is a free service for older people, their families and those who care for them. For information on income and benefits, community care, health, housing, and community issues, call 0800 00 99 66 (free, every day of the year from 8am - 7pm). The Commission for Social Care
