We've already had the elegant and stylish Death in Venice cocktail for Bree . Now it's Susan's turn...
For the flirtatious and girly, but often clumsy and ditzy Susan, legendary bartender and mixologist Tony Conigliaro, of 69 Colebrooke Row, London, has served up the Blush cocktail.
Blush
Ingredients:
25mls homemade rose vodka
15ml rhubarb syrup
60ml champagne
Dash of Peychaud Bitters
Garnish with a zest of grapefruit
Method:
In a Boston shaker, stir the vodka, rhubarb syrup and bitters 20 times until chilled.
Double strain into a champagne saucer (coup).
Top up with the champagne and cut a small piece of grapefruit rind and zest. Then drop into the glass.
Tip:
For the vodka, infuse with red rose petals at home. As roses vary in smell and flavour, it is best to do this by taste. Alternatively, here are some you can buy: Lanique Rose Vodka, Wybrowa Rose Vodka, and Pinky Rose Vodka.
