Derren Brown

Derren Brown: The Gathering

Watch this episode now on 4oD The Gathering

The Gathering was a specially made recording of a live show shot in a mystery location in front of an invited audience of magic experts and celebrity fans.

A one-hour fusion of magic, suggestion, psychology and misdirection, it gave the cynics the chance to decide: is Derren a fraud or should he be burnt at the stake?

Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Reece Shearsmith and Jean Christophe Novelli were just some of Derren's subjects chosen at random. The audience also included Jonathan Ross, Simon Pegg, Al Murray, Sarah Alexander and Rupert Penry-Jones.

As Derren said: "I've always loved performing live and of course it gives people a chance to see that everything's fair."

  1. Derren Brown is a truly remarkable entertainer! His brilliance has little to do with his skills but rather the way that he uses them to create his brilliant illusions. I look forward to watching his up coming shows.

  2. The Gathering was first shown back in 2005 - check the imdb website for details. Or is this another one with the same name?

  6. well i dont know how... or why.. but i have a clear image in my head of seeing this program before.. the whole krishnan part, the girl writing obscure numbers.. the cabbie prediction... its like De Ja Vu. i think his illusionist ways are superb.. although the subliminal message "FORGET" flashing up on screen at least twice was kind of obvious in my opinion. but im sure ive seen this broadcast before.. i shall have to check that out somehow
