In the third series of Trick of the Mind, Derren Brown deploys his fusion of magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship in startling and stylish new forms.
Derren is in the Valley of Fire, Nevada, where he makes the sun disappear, and then shows viewers how he did it. Psychic readings take a global twist when Derren conducts the same experiment on a group of people in Hollywood, Barcelona and London.
He also meets Matt Lucas at a Gentleman's Club in London and leaves him dumbfounded with a psychological card trick. And who is the weird clown that seems to know intimate details of complete strangers he meets in the street?
Derren meets Dame Kelly Holmes at a North London running track. The nation's favourite runner can certainly run, but can she hide from Derren as he attempts to get inside her head?
Derren also attempts to plant specific ideas into the mind of a sleeping student to influence his dreams, with fascinating results.
It's thirsty work as Derren finds himself in the company of a water diviner in the Nevada Desert. Then it's back to London to challenge passers-by to a game of noughts and crosses - blindfolded.
Also, a group of strangers, invited to come on the show, will find they have something extraordinary in common that has taken Derren and his team a year to prepare. And how much can you determine about a person from a photo?
Derren executes a breathtaking routine across the canals of Venice. Back on home territory, Derren summons Robbie Williams to a remote, abandoned location in the East End for a spot of trance-induced body piercing.
And can Derren get two people, speaking in totally different languages, to communicate with each other?
Derren travels to Vienna where he performs a perplexing effect on the iconic giant Ferris Wheel (a landmark featured in Orson Welles' The Third Man).
